We are working with a global insurer who are looking to hire a Director, Operations Controls & Governance. This position reports to the Asia Operations Risk Controls & Governance Lead in the Regional Office. The candidate will be responsible for driving an effective RCSA and Controls Testing program across the Asia segment markets. You will have hands-on involvement in these activities to ensure a high quality outcome to enhance operations risk controls and governance across our Asia segment market.

Responsibilities:

    • Enhance Operations Risk and Control Governance by leading the Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSA) and internal control testing associated from the RCSA results among the Asia segment markets
    • Direct involvement in Control Testing and remediation of control gaps at market level, in collaboration with local stakeholders
    • Manage and review Controls within each market to ensure compliance with Operations Book of Controls
    • Work with various stakeholders, such as compliance, risk, and audit teams to support process or controls improvement initiatives to meet control objectives
    • Assess adequacy of risk management and internal controls in business. Present findings to and reach agreement with the business unit management, make practical and value-added recommendations to improve control environment and efficiency and effectiveness of operations

Requirements:

    • University graduate, preferably in Accounting, Finance, Operational Risk, or a related discipline
    • At least 10 years' internal/external auditing, control, risk management, compliance, quality assurance, or consulting experience, preferably gained from insurance
    • Recognized professional accounting/auditing/risk management (CPA, FRM, CIA, CA, etc.) designation
    • Good knowledge of audit sampling methodologies including control frameworks, risk management techniques, and regulatory requirements
    • Experience in the Insurance Operations Risk is preferred
    • Results oriented; able to strike work balance on multiple priorities and projects
    • Strong business judgment in assessing significance of issues and developing value added recommendations
    • Deep understanding of Operational risks and how they can impact the business
    • Can distill complex issues into simple reports, solutions, and designs
