Position Overview:

Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic R&D Assistant Manager with a focus on Flexible Packaging to join our global FMCG company. In this role, you will play a crucial part in our Research and Development team, contributing to the design and development of innovative packaging solutions for our products. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in flexible packaging and a strong command of the English language.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Packaging Development: Collaborate with the R&D team to design and develop flexible packaging solutions that align with our product and sustainability goals.
  • Material Selection: Work closely with suppliers to identify and evaluate packaging materials, ensuring they meet quality, cost, and sustainability criteria.
  • Prototype Development: Oversee the creation of packaging prototypes, conducting testing and analysis to ensure their functionality and performance.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all packaging materials and designs adhere to relevant regulatory requirements and quality standards.
  • Cost Optimization: Identify opportunities to optimize packaging costs while maintaining or improving quality and sustainability.
  • Innovation: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in flexible packaging and propose innovative solutions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, marketing, and quality assurance, to integrate packaging requirements into product development.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with packaging material suppliers and external partners.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of packaging designs, testing results, and specifications.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in flexible packaging development.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
  • Strong knowledge of flexible packaging materials, design, and manufacturing processes.
  • Understanding of regulatory and quality standards related to packaging.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Creativity and innovation in packaging design and development.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
