Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic R&D Assistant Manager with a focus on Flexible Packaging to join our global FMCG company. In this role, you will play a crucial part in our Research and Development team, contributing to the design and development of innovative packaging solutions for our products. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in flexible packaging and a strong command of the English language.
- Packaging Development: Collaborate with the R&D team to design and develop flexible packaging solutions that align with our product and sustainability goals.
- Material Selection: Work closely with suppliers to identify and evaluate packaging materials, ensuring they meet quality, cost, and sustainability criteria.
- Prototype Development: Oversee the creation of packaging prototypes, conducting testing and analysis to ensure their functionality and performance.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all packaging materials and designs adhere to relevant regulatory requirements and quality standards.
- Cost Optimization: Identify opportunities to optimize packaging costs while maintaining or improving quality and sustainability.
- Innovation: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in flexible packaging and propose innovative solutions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, marketing, and quality assurance, to integrate packaging requirements into product development.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with packaging material suppliers and external partners.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of packaging designs, testing results, and specifications.
- Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in flexible packaging development.
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
- Strong knowledge of flexible packaging materials, design, and manufacturing processes.
- Understanding of regulatory and quality standards related to packaging.
- Strong project management skills.
