AI Engineer/ AI Architect- Contract- 7k- Insurance

We are seeking an experienced AI Architect to lead the design, development, and implementation of enterprise AI solutions across the insurance business. This role will be responsible for defining AI architecture strategy, driving Generative AI adoption, and building scalable AI platforms that support underwriting, claims, customer service, distribution, risk management, and operational efficiency initiatives.

The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise in AI/ML, cloud architecture, data platforms, and software engineering with a deep understanding of insurance business processes and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and lead the enterprise AI architecture roadmap aligned with business and technology strategies.
• Design scalable AI and Generative AI solutions using LLMs, RAG, AI agents, machine learning, and predictive analytics.
• Architect AI platforms supporting underwriting, claims processing, fraud detection, customer engagement, and insurance operations.
• Design and implement AI governance, security, compliance, and responsible AI frameworks.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify AI use cases and translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Lead architecture reviews and establish best practices for AI development, deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
• Design and oversee AI integration with core insurance systems, policy administration platforms, CRM, data warehouses, and external data providers.
• Drive adoption of AI technologies including GPT, Claude, Gemini, LangChain, LangGraph, vector databases, and enterprise knowledge management platforms.
• Architect cloud-native AI solutions on AWS, Azure, or GCP environments.
• Establish MLOps and GenAIOps frameworks for model deployment, monitoring, governance, and continuous improvement.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and assess their applicability to insurance products and services.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to engineering, data science, and architecture teams.
• Work closely with cybersecurity, risk, legal, and compliance teams to ensure regulatory adherence and secure AI deployment.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Engineering, or related disciplines.
• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture, or enterprise architecture.
• 5+ years of experience designing and implementing AI, machine learning, or advanced analytics solutions.
• Strong experience with Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and AI agents.
• Hands-on experience with AI frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, Hugging Face, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar technologies.
• Strong programming skills in Python and experience building scalable APIs and AI services.
• Experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong understanding of data architecture, data governance, data engineering, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Experience with vector databases, semantic search, embeddings, and knowledge retrieval systems.
• Familiarity with MLOps, DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and Kubernetes.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within insurance, financial services, or regulated industries.
• Knowledge of underwriting, claims, policy administration, distribution, customer service, or actuarial processes.
• Experience implementing AI governance, responsible AI, model risk management, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
• Experience with enterprise architecture methodologies and architecture governance.
• Exposure to agentic AI, autonomous workflows, and enterprise AI orchestration platforms.
• Relevant certifications in cloud architecture, AI, machine learning, or enterprise architecture.
