Confidential Search | Area Manager, Greater China | Singapore

An international beauty consumer organisation is appointing an Area Manager, Greater China, to join its Singapore regional hub.

This is a senior commercial individual contributor role suited to candidates from key account management, business development, distributor management, travel retail, marketplace, ecommerce or major retail account management backgrounds.

The role covers China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, with direct ownership of strategic partners, business planning, sell-in / sell-out performance, forecasting, trading terms and senior commercial negotiations.

Salary budget: circa S$98,000 – S$130,000 annual fixed base, plus variable annual performance bonus.

Relevant backgrounds:

  • China digital commerce, marketplace or cross-border business
  • Hong Kong / Taiwan retail, distributor, travel retail or major key account management
  • Beauty, personal care, luxury, premium retail, travel retail or selective distribution

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute commercial strategy across China, Hong Kong and Taiwan
  • Manage strategic partners, distributors, key accounts, marketplaces and major retail channels
  • Drive sell-in, sell-out, forecasting, pricing, assortment and trade investment planning
  • Negotiate annual targets, trading terms, partner expectations and long-term business plans
  • Monitor sales performance, market risks, channel opportunities and competitor activity
  • Partner with regional and global teams across sales, marketing, operations and finance
  • Ensure brand standards are translated effectively across local market and channel realities

Key Requirements

  • Mandatory: direct exposure to China, Hong Kong and / or Taiwan markets, across any channel
  • Strong key account, distributor, travel retail, marketplace, ecommerce or partner management experience
  • Exposure to Tmall, Douyin, China cross-border or marketplace-led business would be highly relevant
  • Exposure to Hong Kong / Taiwan retail, distributors, duty free, Sephora, department stores or major retail accounts would be highly relevant
  • Strong commercial negotiation capability at partner / key account level
  • Structured, analytical and confident managing senior internal and external stakeholders
  • Fluent English required; Chinese language capability would be useful
