AWS Infrastructure Engineer (Cloud Storage & Linux – Leadership Track)

Role: AWS Infrastructure Engineer
Experience:
3–5 Years
Industry:
Proprietary Trading
Location: Cyberport (Hybrid work)

Role Overview
Our Client is looking for a highly technical AWS Infrastructure Engineer to design, optimize, and maintain our high-performance storage systems on AWS. You will be responsible for the intersection of Kubernetes orchestration and deep-level Linux storage, specifically leveraging OpenZFS to support large-scale simulations and data-heavy EC2 workloads.

Key Responsibilities

  • Storage Architecture: Design and maintain scalable storage solutions using OpenZFS on AWS EC2, ensuring high data integrity and performance for simulation workloads.
  • Kubernetes Orchestration: Manage and troubleshoot CSI (Container Storage Interface) drivers to ensure seamless volume mounting and data persistence for Kubernetes pods.
  • Deep Troubleshooting: Perform root-cause analysis on complex storage failures, spanning from the Kubernetes pod layer down to the Linux kernel and physical-level block device issues.
  • Performance Optimization: Tune Linux system parameters and ZFS configurations to maximize throughput and minimize latency for specialized application needs.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Automate the provisioning and scaling of AWS resources (EC2, VPC, EBS) using Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Simulation Support: Run and monitor large-scale compute simulations, ensuring infrastructure stability and cost-efficiency.

Technical Qualifications

  • Linux Mastery: Expert-level knowledge of Linux internals, command-line utilities, and filesystem management (specifically ZFS/OpenZFS).
  • AWS Expert: Deep experience with EC2 instance types, EBS optimization, and networking within a VPC environment.
  • Kubernetes Pro: Hands-on experience troubleshooting K8s nodes, specifically identifying errors within the CSI and persistent volume (PV) lifecycle.
  • Systems Thinker: Ability to articulate a clear "thought process" when debugging unknowns in a production environment.
  • Automation: Proficient in scripting (Python or Bash) and IaC tools.
