This role sits within a leading global financial institution’s technology division, supporting large-scale data solutions that enable market risk and regulatory reporting functions. The successful candidate will design and develop high-performance platforms managing complex data flows across multiple systems, ensuring accuracy, resilience, and compliance with international standards. The position provides hands-on exposure to diverse financial products, regulatory frameworks, and a modern technology stack, offering a blend of technical depth and business engagement in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data platforms and backend applications supporting trading and risk management operations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into robust technical solutions.
- Build and optimize high-volume data pipelines with strong focus on accuracy, performance, and fault tolerance.
- Contribute throughout the full system lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, and production support.
- Work with a diverse technology landscape including Java, Scala, Python, cloud platforms, and CI/CD tools.
- Enhance and modernize existing components while maintaining stability of legacy systems.
Key Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience designing and delivering resilient data or computation-intensive backend systems.
- Strong proficiency in Java and/or Scala, with readiness to learn the other as needed.
- Solid foundation in data engineering, data modeling, and system architecture principles.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern data tools such as Databricks or Snowflake.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Agile development practices (e.g., Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket, JIRA).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with interest in financial or regulatory data systems.
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.
