Role: Data Engineer

Location: Onsite (Kwai Hing)

Travel: Business Travel Required

Position Overview Our client is seeking Data Engineers to develop and maintain the core Data Platform for their Asia offices. In this role, you will drive the technical mechanisms for data collection, integration, and transformation. You will be responsible for building robust data delivery solutions that support regional business intelligence, working within a tight-knit team to optimize cloud-based data assets.

Key Responsibilities

Data Engineering & Pipeline Management

• Pipeline Construction: Design, build, and monitor end-to-end data pipelines to ensure reliable data delivery.
• Refinement & Integration: Develop scripts and custom code to refine raw data; create mechanisms to protect, store, and arrange data into actionable solutions.
• Optimization: Conduct unit tests and develop complex database queries to troubleshoot issues and optimize pipeline performance.

Business Collaboration & Support

• Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with business users to enhance reporting tools and develop solutions based on technical requirement specifications.
• Maintenance: Provide ongoing problem investigation and support for the data platform to ensure high availability.
• Technical Documentation: Document solutions through flowcharts, layouts, and clear code comments to serve as a reference guide for senior staff.

Global Collaboration

• Teamwork: Work professionally and virtually within a tight-knit global team environment.
• Regional Support: Occasional travel to world-class factories is required to support localized data initiatives and process engineering.

Candidate Requirements

Background & Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Statistics, or a related discipline.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in data engineering projects.
• Mindset: Motivated and self-sufficient; able to own tasks from inception to completion with minimal supervision.

Technical Skillset

• Core Languages: Proficiency in Python and SQL(Oracle DB experience preferred); knowledge of Java is an advantage.
• Cloud & ETL: Demonstrated aptitude in Cloud Data Platform solutions and complex ETL processes.
• Data Modeling: Solid understanding of general data modeling concepts and maintaining cloud data assets.

Language & Communication

• Requirements: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Languages: Fluency in English and Cantonese is required; professional proficiency in Mandarin is a distinct advantage.
