My client is an established life insurer in Hong Kong, currently seeking a Director for Operations & Transformation to lead the end-to-end operations function while driving strategic transformation initiatives across the business. Reporting directly to senior leadership, this highly visible role oversees core insurance operations and plays a critical role in shaping the future operating model, customer experience, and business growth agenda.
This is an opportunity for a hands-on leader who can balance operational excellence with transformation delivery, working across multiple functions to improve efficiency, modernise processes, and enhance service outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide oversight across New Business Underwriting, Claims, Policy Administration, Customer Service, Shared Services and Transformation.
- Ensure operational performance, customer service standards, and regulatory commitments are consistently achieved.
- Monitor service levels, turnaround times and operational effectiveness across all core functions.
- Lead and sponsor operational transformation initiatives
- Oversee the Transformation and PMO function, ensuring successful delivery of strategic programmes and business initiatives.
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience within life insurance operations.
- Strong understanding of the life insurance value chain, including underwriting, claims, policy administration and customer servicing.
- Proven experience leading operational transformation, digitisation and process improvement initiatives.
- Experience managing multiple operational functions rather than a single specialist area.
- Demonstrated ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution.
- Sound understanding of the Hong Kong insurance market and regulatory environment.
