We are looking for a highly motivated Equity Support Engineer / SRE to support and enhance mission-critical trading systems within the Equities business. This role sits close to the Front Office, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability of trading platforms used by traders, sales, and quants.
You will play a key role in incident management, system monitoring, automation, and continuous improvement of production environments.
Key Responsibilities
Production Support
-
Provide L1/L2/L3 support for equity trading applications (OMS/EMS, market connectivity, pricing systems)

Monitor system health, trading flows, and market data in real time

Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents with minimal disruption to trading activities

Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures
Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)

Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of trading systems

Build and maintain monitoring, alerting, and observability frameworks
-
Automate operational tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention
-
Drive incident response, post-mortems, and reliability improvements
Stakeholder Management

Work closely with traders, quants, developers, and infrastructure teams

Communicate effectively during incidents and provide timely updates

Translate business requirements into technical solutions
Release & Change Management

Support system deployments, releases, and configuration changes
-
Validate production readiness and rollback procedures

Maintain runbooks and operational documentation
Required Skills & Experience
Technical Skills
-
Strong experience in Linux/Unix environments
-
Proficiency in Python, Shell scripting, or similar languages
-
Experience with SQL (Oracle, Sybase, or similar)

Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus)

Understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture

Knowledge of messaging systems (e.g., Kafka, MQ) is a plus
-
Experience supporting Equities trading systems (OMS/EMS preferred)

Understanding of market data feeds and trading workflows
-
Exposure to Front Office environments in investment banking
-
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
-
Knowledge of DevOps/SRE practices (CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code)
-
Exposure to low-latency systems
-
Prior experience in global financial institutions
