We are seeking a skilled Senior Security Engineer
to lead and embed security best practices into software delivery and infrastructure projects.
- This is a 6 month contract to start with a potential to extend for another 6 months. There may be further extension based on individual performance and project needs.
This role blends hands-on technical work with strategic guidance, supporting both development teams and enterprise-level security needs, including compliance with industry frameworks such as ISO 27001 and CIS controls.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the security lead across key software and infrastructure projects
- Review application architecture and infrastructure with a security-first mindset
- Guide teams on secure coding practices and tools (e.g., OWASP Top 10, SAST, DAST, SCA)
- Work closely with DevOps teams to secure CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code
- Recommend and apply cloud security best practices (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Support discussions on enterprise security and compliance frameworks
- Translate security requirements into practical, actionable solutions
- Produce security documentation including risk assessments and mitigation plans
- Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and team upskilling
What We’re Looking For:
- 5+ years of experience in security engineering, DevSecOps, or secure cloud architecture
- Proficiency with modern application stacks and cloud-native infrastructure
- Familiarity with tools such as SonarQube, Snyk, Checkmarx, and GitHub Advanced Security
- Strong working knowledge of cloud security services (e.g., IAM, GuardDuty, Config, WAF)
- Confidence in engaging with both technical teams and business stakeholders
- Understanding of security standards such as ISO 27001, CIS benchmarks, and data protection principles
- Strong communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging for various audiences
- Certifications like CISSP
